What are the benefits of a good Pet Insurance policy? For your peace of mind perhaps the most obvious benefit of pet insurance is that should your pet fall ill or have an accident it will provide a level of cover for vets' fees.   However, its well worth shopping around as there could be other benefits to be considered.  Perhaps the most important of these is public liability cover. Some other benefits may include: Kennel cover if your pet has to be housed when you are ill; Advertising and reward cover if your pet goes missing; Overseas cover if you want to take your pet abroad. There are many providers of pet insurance, so here are a few points to look out for to ensure you not only get the best deal but also the best cover?   Lifetime policy or only cover for a condition for up to 12 months? A 12-month policy could  be cheaper but if your pet needs treatment for many years it will get very expensive once the initial period ends. Pets can get chronic conditions such as diabetes or arthritis. What about "dangerous pets" or "exotic pets"? What about when your pet gets older? Will your provider abandon you when your pet reaches an advanced age or will they continue cover for life?
